Bosnia’s “Pomozi.ba” Delivers Humanitarian Aid to Flood-Affected Families in Northern Pakistan
ISLAMABAD — In a gesture of international solidarity, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Association “Pomozi.ba” has extended vital humanitarian assistance to communities devastated by recent flash floods and heavy rains in Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other mountainous regions of Pakistan. The aid operation, carried out in partnership with Alkhidmat Europe, targeted some of the most vulnerable areas that suffered severe damage and displacement as a result of the floods.
According to official information, one hundred and fifty families received emergency relief packages containing food and non-food items, including essential household supplies. The association also distributed tents to provide temporary shelter for families whose homes had been damaged or destroyed. This emergency intervention reflects Pomozi.ba’s ongoing humanitarian commitment to supporting disaster-affected populations beyond its borders and helping restore stability to vulnerable communities.
A delegation from Pomozi.ba, led by its representative Mr. Mithat Brkan, visited the flood-hit areas from September 28 to 30, 2025. During the visit, Mr. Brkan met with local elders, affected families, and community representatives to assess the on-ground situation, listen to survivors’ concerns, and convey condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the disaster. He assured community members that Pomozi.ba would continue to explore ways to assist long-term rehabilitation and strengthen resilience in northern Pakistan’s flood-prone regions.
The Bosnian delegation was accompanied by representatives of Alkhidmat Europe, a long-standing humanitarian partner in Pakistan, to ensure transparent and timely distribution of aid in remote mountainous zones. Both organizations emphasized that their collaborative relief efforts symbolize global solidarity with Pakistan and highlight the importance of sustained international cooperation to help communities facing repeated climate-induced disasters. Their mission not only provided essential material support but also reinforced the bonds of friendship and compassion between the people of Bosnia and Pakistan.
