2nd International Precision Agriculture Conference 2025 Concluded at PMAS-AAUR
“Reforms in Agriculture are the Need of the Era,” says Chief Guest Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Federal Minister for Railways
Rawalpindi — The three-day 2nd International Precision Agriculture Conference (IPAC) 2025 successfully concluded at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) on Tuesday. The event was organized by the Center for Precision Agriculture (C4PA) under the theme “Transforming Agriculture through Digital Innovations.”
Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi was the Chief Guest of the concluding session, while MPA Punjab Ms. Asma Naz Abbasi attended as the Guest of Honor.
The conference was held in both physical and online modes, allowing international participation from countries including the United States, Canada, and China. Some speakers joined the event in person, while others delivered their lectures virtually. The conference provided a valuable platform for participants to share knowledge, explore innovative ideas in precision agriculture, and build collaborative partnerships for future research and development.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Chief Guest Muhammad Hanif Abbasi emphasized the importance of agricultural reforms and food security. He said that Pakistan must focus on increasing agricultural exports and adopting modern technologies to meet future challenges. He appreciated the efforts of the university and organizers for arranging an event that brought together leading experts and researchers from across the world. “Our participants had the privilege of learning from experienced professionals who shared valuable insights into the future of precision agriculture and the role of digitization in global farming practices,” he added.
In his address, Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman highlighted that the era of automation, artificial intelligence, and precision farming has already begun. He stressed the need to adopt these modern approaches to reduce production costs, improve fertilizer efficiency, conserve water, and increase crop yields while minimizing environmental impact. The Vice Chancellor expressed his gratitude to all the international and national guest speakers, presenters, and participants for their active involvement and appreciated the efforts of Dr. Muhammad Naveed Tahir (Chief Organizer), Dr. Shoaib Rashid Saleem (Conference Secretary), and their organizing team for successfully conducting the conference.
Throughout the three days, international and national experts presented their research and papers in eight technical sessions. In addition, several parallel activities, including an Agricultural Expo, IT Exhibition, Food Fest 2025, Bird Show, Art and Craft Exhibition, and Poster and Oral Presentation Sessions, were organized as part of the event.
The concluding session ended with the distribution of shields and souvenirs among the honorable guests, presenters, and participants. On the final day, a Kissan Mela (Farmers’ Festival) is scheduled to be held at the University Research Farm, Koont, Tehsil Gujar Khan, where modern agricultural equipment and precision farming demonstrations will be showcased for local farmers.
