Government advances Film Revival by reviewing policies and digital strategies to boost Pakistan's cinema and creative economy.

Islamabad, 7 November 2025. Federal Minister Dr. Musadik Malik chaired the first meeting of the Prime Minister’s Committee for Revival of Film and Cinema in Islamabad, bringing together senior ministers and officials to map a practical path for Film Revival in Pakistan.

The session included participation from Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division, and Huzaifa Rehman, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Culture and Heritage, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.

Participants reviewed existing institutional and regulatory frameworks governing film production, distribution and exhibition, and discussed measures to strengthen coordination among relevant ministries and stakeholders. The committee explored options to facilitate sustainable growth of the national film industry while ensuring that policy reforms support both traditional exhibition and modern distribution channels.

Dr. Musadik Malik emphasized revitalising Pakistan’s cinema as a platform for cultural expression, a driver of the creative economy and a vehicle for national storytelling. He urged alignment of policy with emerging global trends by encouraging digital platforms, supporting indigenous content creation and promoting films that reflect Pakistan’s diverse identity as part of the broader Film Revival effort.
