Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan met with officials from the Higher Education Commission and the British Council, joined by MNA and PMYP focal person Syeda Amnah Batool, to chart the way forward for the Green Youth Movement and strengthen youth-led action on sustainability and climate change.
The delegation included Mr. Asif Hussain, Director Planning and Development at the Higher Education Commission; Mrs. Sadaf Akram, Deputy Director Monitoring and Evaluation at HEC; Iftikhar Ahmed, Head of Non-Formal Education at the British Council; and Aun Naqvi, Programme Manager for Non-Formal Education at the British Council. Syeda Amnah Batool attended in her capacity as both a member of the National Assembly and the PMYP focal person.
Discussions centered on empowering young people to take leadership roles in sustainability initiatives, advance climate action, and contribute to building a greener future for Pakistan. Participants explored how formal and non-formal education, monitoring and evaluation, and institutional collaboration can support the Green Youth Movement’s objectives.
The meeting emphasized coordinated efforts between government bodies and international partners to expand youth capacity, improve program delivery, and identify next steps for implementing GYM activities nationwide.
