Islamabad private schools pledge support after EPI and UNICEF webinar to boost HPV vaccine uptake through parental counselling and consent mobilization.

The Expanded Programme on Immunization Pakistan, District Health Office Islamabad and UNICEF held an awareness webinar with private school leaders to strengthen engagement, enhance parental counselling and increase HPV vaccine uptake in the first-phase campaign areas.

School administrators and teachers discussed practical steps to raise awareness among parents and students, and agreed to support consent mobilization efforts so more girls in Islamabad and neighbouring communities receive the HPV vaccine.

Speakers highlighted the role of schools as trusted local partners for health messaging, noting that clear parental counselling can reduce hesitancy and improve timely vaccination. The webinar encouraged school-led information sessions and coordination with health teams to address community concerns.

The collaborative approach between EPI, the District Health Office Islamabad and UNICEF aims to translate the commitments made during the session into measurable increases in HPV vaccine coverage, ensuring broader protection for girls in the campaign areas.
