Government Associate College for Women in Sihal, Rawalpindi held an investiture ceremony to inaugurate its newly formed proctorial board and administer oaths to the selected student leaders. The event included the assignment of responsibilities across the college’s three houses and briefing sessions to prepare the students for their roles.
During the ceremony, the college formally constituted the proctorial board and administered oaths to the elected students, marking the start of their tenure in student leadership positions. The investiture was attended by college staff who oversaw the proceedings and guided the new office-bearers.
Students were assigned responsibilities within the college’s three active houses — Fatima al-Zahra, Khadija al-Kubra and Aisha Siddiqah. Each house received designated student leaders and members who will coordinate extracurricular activities, inter-house competitions and day-to-day student matters. Special orientation sessions were held to explain the duties, expectations and protocols associated with each role.
Principal Samira Hamid and the teaching staff emphasized the importance of the proctorial board and student council in managing co-curricular activities and college functions. They said the house system is intended to develop leadership skills, encourage healthy competition and provide opportunities for students to sharpen their abilities.
The ceremony concluded with the newly appointed students taking a pledge to perform their duties with honesty, diligence and discipline, committing to uphold the standards and responsibilities entrusted to them.
