Prof Shahzad Khan Wins National Health Award

Prof Shahzad Khan received Pakistan's first National Health Award in Public Health Leadership at Health Asia 2025, recognizing his leadership in public health.

On 23rd October 2025 at the PAF Convention Hall in Karachi, Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor of the Health Services Academy, was presented with Pakistan’s first National Health Award in the category of Public Health Leadership during the 22nd Health Asia International Exhibition & Conference. Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal attended as the chief guest for the ceremony.

The event was organised under the Health Asia banner in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). Dr. Zakiuddin Ahmed, convener and co‑founder of Health Asia, praised Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan for exemplary leadership and research that have strengthened public health practice across Pakistan, noting the significance of the National Health Award in highlighting such contributions.

Federal Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal underscored the value of hosting global‑standard gatherings like Health Asia, saying they bolster the national health system and provide vital platforms for professionals to exchange experience. After receiving the National Health Award in Public Health Leadership, Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan expressed gratitude and dedicated the honour to his team and students, describing it as recognition of collective efforts by public health professionals nationwide.

Health Asia 2025 featured more than 24 international and 240 national speakers across sessions, while over 200 organisations showcased innovative healthcare products and services. Organisers reaffirmed their commitment to advancing innovation, collaboration and policy progress in Pakistan’s healthcare sector through future editions of Health Asia.
