The Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced nationwide celebrations to mark the 1500th year since the birth of Prophet Muhammad, coinciding with the year 1447 Hijri. The commemorations will include a series of special events held from 1st to 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal under the theme “Ashra Rehmat-ul-Lil-Alameen.”
A key feature of the celebrations will be the 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference in Islamabad. This major event will draw government officials, religious scholars, diplomats, and distinguished guests from both Pakistan and abroad. The conference will focus on the responsibilities of states in educating and guiding positive social media use, interpreted through the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
Across the country, a wide range of activities is planned, including Seerat conferences, Naat gatherings, seminars, student competitions, and special programs in educational institutions at all levels. A national Quran and Seerat exhibition and a grand Naat gathering are also scheduled.
To ensure coordinated efforts, the ministry has shared a comprehensive program with all provincial governments, as well as the administrations of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. These regions have appointed focal persons to oversee the arrangements, and reports from the festivities will be compiled into a national record.
The minister urged all citizens to join in the celebrations, emphasizing the importance of promoting peace, unity, and tolerance. He also called on the nation to support underprivileged communities, especially those impacted by recent floods.
