Seminar on Protection Against Harassment Act 2010

Under the direction of Managing Director Talha Zubair, Punjab Masstransit Authority held an awareness seminar at its head office in Arfa Software Technology Park, Lahore to explain the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010. The session, organized in collaboration with the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection against Harassment, aimed to educate employees about their rights, promote a safe and inclusive workplace, and reinforce the authority’s zero-tolerance stance on harassment.

The seminar was delivered by Muhammad Shazib Iqbal, corporate lawyer and law officer with the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection against Harassment, who addressed staff from across the authority and outlined the key provisions of the Act and the obligations it places on employers and employees.

Organizers said the event focused on three primary objectives: ensuring employees understand their legal rights under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, promoting a safe, dignified and inclusive workplace environment, and reinforcing Punjab Masstransit Authority’s zero-tolerance policy toward harassment. Participants were briefed on the importance of prevention, reporting mechanisms, and the institutional responsibilities required to uphold these standards.

Punjab Masstransit Authority reiterated its commitment to fostering awareness, respect and safety across all its offices and systems, and signaled continued efforts to educate staff and enforce policies that protect employees from harassment.
