A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab delegation led by spokesperson Dr Ali Imran Advocate visited the National Press Club Islamabad on the special instruction of chief organizer Aleeya Hamza to denounce the violent actions by Islamabad police against working journalists.

The delegation, which included senior vice president Zafar Iqbal Gondal, vice president Chaudhry Nazir and other party leaders, met with members of the press club to hear firsthand accounts of the incident in which police reportedly forced entry and used brutal force while coverage was underway.

Dr Ali Imran Advocate described journalists as the mirror of society and strongly condemned the police action, saying the attack on the National Press Club amounted to an assault on free reporting. He pledged that PTI Punjab will stand with the journalist community and offer all available legal and moral support to affected colleagues.

Secretary of the National Press Club Niaer Ali thanked PTI Punjab chief organizer Aleeya Hamza and the visiting delegation for their solidarity, warning that if such incidents continue no press club in the country can be considered safe. He urged authorities to respect press freedoms and protect journalists during coverage.

The PTI Punjab delegation reiterated its commitment to protect press freedom in Islamabad and across Punjab, promising to raise the matter at all levels and assist journalists in pursuing necessary legal recourse.
