The third anniversary of the Pukhtun Rozgar Program was celebrated in New York, highlighting the organization’s role in supporting economic opportunities for Pukhtun families in Pakistan. The event brought together members of the Pakistani-American Pukhtun community and featured Deputy Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Umar Sheikh, as a special guest representing Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai.

The Pukhtun Rozgar Program operates by collecting small contributions from the United States and directing these funds toward livelihood projects in Pakistan. These efforts have enabled many individuals to start businesses such as operating rickshaws and opening shops, fostering financial independence and dignity for families in need.

During his address, Deputy Consul General Sheikh praised the program’s founders, donors, and volunteers for their dedication to promoting self-reliance and economic empowerment. He emphasized that such grassroots efforts play a crucial role in transforming lives and uplifting communities.

The Consulate General reiterated its support for the initiative and called on the wider Pakistani-American community to continue and expand their support, hoping that more families in Pakistan can benefit from similar opportunities in the future.
