PULSE Project Wrap-up Meeting Concludes

Officials review PULSE Project progress and address implementation challenges after floods to accelerate Punjab urban land reforms.

A wrap-up meeting of the World Bank’s Implementation Support Mission for the Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement Project brought together senior officials to assess progress and outstanding challenges for the PULSE Project. The session was chaired by Secretary, Planning & Development Board Mr. Rafaqat Ali and led by Mr. Dong Kyu Kwak, Senior Land Administration Specialist and Task Team Leader for the mission.

The mission reviewed overall project progress and discussed key implementation challenges, with particular attention to the impact of recent flooding on field operations. Participants examined how disruptions have affected data collection, on-site surveys and stakeholder engagement, and explored practical steps to restore momentum on project activities.

Under Mr. Rafaqat Ali’s chairmanship, government representatives and World Bank specialists emphasised the need for close coordination between provincial departments and the mission to keep the PULSE Project on track. Discussion focused on targeted recovery measures, risk-sensitive planning and continued technical assistance to address implementation bottlenecks.

The meeting concluded with agreement to refine action plans and maintain regular monitoring so that project objectives remain achievable despite recent setbacks. The World Bank team will continue to provide support and follow up on agreed measures to advance Punjab urban land reform under the PULSE Project.
