**Punjab Climate Observatory Panel Accelerates Efforts to Strengthen Climate Data Systems**

The third meeting of the expert panel responsible for finalizing the PC-I of the Punjab Climate Observatory was held, with members reaffirming their commitment to advancing climate monitoring in the province. Chaired by the Director General of the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the session brought together key officials, including the Additional Secretary (Technical) and Deputy Secretary (Technical) from Punjab’s Environment Protection and Climate Change Department (EP&CCD), alongside representatives from all working groups.

The primary agenda of the meeting was to review and assess the ongoing progress made by various working groups tasked with developing the observatory. The Director General, EPA, highlighted the critical need for swift and coordinated efforts, stressing that timely completion of these tasks would enable Punjab to establish a robust system for climate data collection, monitoring, and rapid response mechanisms.
