On 22 September 2025, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz invited student Owais Ali to the Chief Minister’s office in recognition of his outstanding performance in the Inter first annual examination 2025. The invitation followed Owais Ali’s achievement of 1003 marks, securing the second position in the Rawalpindi Board humanities group. District Education Authority Rawalpindi Chief Executive Officer Tariq Mahmood accompanied the student to the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and Secretary of the Punjab School Education Department Khalid Nazir Watto, who praised the determination shown by the student. The Chief Minister highlighted that students from government schools can achieve distinguished results with perseverance and proper support, citing Owais Ali as a motivating example for others across Punjab.
To encourage continued excellence, the Chief Minister presented Owais Ali with a special prize check of Rs500,000. The award aims to recognize his hard work and to set a visible example for students in government-run institutions, particularly those in rural and suburban areas like Kontrila village in Gujar Khan Tehsil, Rawalpindi District where Owais Ali studies.
During the event, Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and Secretary Khalid Nazir Watto assured Owais Ali and his parents of the provincial government’s ongoing commitment to support education initiatives and to provide assistance where needed. They emphasized that such recognition is part of broader efforts to strengthen public schooling and uplift talented students.
CEO Tariq Mahmood praised the student and acknowledged the work of the education authority operating under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema. He said the authority is making continuous efforts to ensure quality education and to create conditions that allow more students like Owais Ali to succeed at board level examinations.
