Punjab Development and National Unity at 78th Independence Day

Member of the National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb has praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for placing the province on a path of development, stating that numerous major development projects across the country are nearing completion. Speaking at an event organized by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Minority Wing to celebrate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, Aurangzeb emphasized national unity, noting that the entire country is now united under the slogan “We are one.”

Aurangzeb highlighted Pakistan’s improved international standing, remarking that following recent successes, the world now recognizes the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. She commended the Christian community for their continuous contributions and sacrifices towards Pakistan’s security and progress, adding that they have always stood shoulder to shoulder with the nation.

She also pointed out that PML-N leaders, including party chief Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, have launched several initiatives for minorities, such as the Minority Card and various development programs. According to Aurangzeb, minorities in Pakistan enjoy the freedom to practice their religion freely, and she expressed optimism that Pakistan is set to achieve new milestones of development.

The event was attended by several key figures, including former Rawalpindi Mayor and senior PML-N leader Sardar Naseem, Deputy Coordinator Kashif Yousaf, Regional President Kamran Bhatti, Municipal Corporation General Secretary Pastor Shahid Raza, Chairman of the Hindu Sanatan Dharma Committee Pandit Rakesh, and other local leaders.

Former Mayor Sardar Naseem acknowledged the significance of the event, commending the efforts of the Minority Wing and reaffirming PML-N’s commitment to minority rights. “You are not a minority, you are our brothers who always stand with us,” he stated, assuring attendees that his door is always open to address their legitimate concerns.

Deputy Coordinator Kashif Yousaf spoke of the nation’s unity under the leadership of the Army Chief and Prime Minister, saying that all segments of society are working together for Pakistan’s progress and integrity. He dismissed recent propaganda by certain groups, noting that the public has rejected such narratives and remains focused on national development. Yousaf reiterated his commitment to working for the rights of minority communities and encouraged individuals to approach him with their issues.

The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity and security, a celebratory cake-cutting, and enthusiastic chants of “Long live Pakistan” and “Long live the Pakistan Army” from the attendees.
