Punjab achieves a self-reliant family planning system in six districts with TCI-GSM support, advancing FP2030 and sustainable service scale-up.

The Health & Population Department, Punjab in partnership with The Challenge Initiative Pakistan and Greenstar Social Marketing marked the achievement of a self-reliant health system for sustainable family planning scale-up across six districts: Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Khanewal and Rawalpindi.

This milestone underscores how focused capacity building, innovation and close collaboration can accelerate progress on family planning targets. Local health teams and stakeholders in these districts have moved from externally driven programs to models that emphasise local ownership and continuity, supporting long-term service delivery aligned with national FP2030 commitments.

By strengthening systems and the ability of provincial and district actors to plan and implement family planning interventions, the initiative aims to ensure services remain accessible and responsive to community needs. The approach highlights practical steps toward sustainability through skills transfer, adaptive solutions and joint problem solving between government and partners.

The Health & Population Department expressed appreciation for the role of TCI and Greenstar Social Marketing in walking alongside the province to turn commitment into action. This collaborative achievement is presented as a durable contribution toward improving reproductive health outcomes and sustaining family planning gains across Punjab.
