Punjab Food Authority Murree held an awareness seminar and a public walk at PC Bhurban to mark World Food Day 2025, reinforcing the theme Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future. The event brought together PFA officials and representatives from the provincial administration, including support from the Chief Secretary Punjab, to spotlight the importance of safe food for all communities in Punjab.
PFA officials used the occasion of World Food Day to emphasize practical measures for improving food safety and hygiene across the supply chain, from vendors to hotels and local food businesses in Murree and neighbouring districts. Speakers highlighted simple, implementable steps for contamination prevention, proper food handling and consumer awareness that can immediately reduce food-borne risks.
The authority also stressed sustainable practices that protect both public health and local livelihoods, calling for coordinated action between regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders and consumers. PFA reiterated its commitment to ongoing outreach, inspections and capacity building to ensure safer food environments across the province.
Attendees were encouraged to adopt recommended hygiene practices at home and in business operations, with PFA urging communities to treat World Food Day as an opportunity to strengthen everyday food safety habits. The event underscored the continuing role of the Punjab Food Authority in promoting standards that support a healthier future for the region.
