The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has intensified its crackdown on banned plastic bags across various districts, targeting those with a thickness of less than 75 microns. As part of these ongoing efforts, officials seized 120 kilograms of prohibited plastic bags in district Lodhran.

According to EPA Punjab, the targeted operations aim to reduce environmental pollution caused by single-use plastic bags, which are harmful due to their non-biodegradable nature and detrimental effects on wildlife and public health. The agency reiterated its commitment to enforcing the provincial ban and conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance.

Authorities have urged businesses and the public to cooperate by switching to environmentally friendly alternatives. The EPA emphasized that strict action will continue against the production, distribution, and use of non-compliant plastic bags in all districts of Punjab to protect the environment and promote sustainability.
