Punjab Province is set to enhance its sports infrastructure following a high-level meeting chaired by Secretary Sports Punjab, Muzaffar Khan Sial. The meeting focused on key decisions regarding new development schemes to support athletic activities across the region.
Attendees included Director General Sports Punjab Khizra Afzal Chaudhry, Additional Secretary Mian Usman Ali, Acting PD PMU Farhan, and Deputy Director Tariq Khanzada. During the meeting, it was decided that an open volleyball court will be constructed at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex, and a modern archery sports arena will also be developed in Lahore, aiming to offer state-of-the-art facilities for athletes.
The sports hostel at Nishtar Park Sports Complex is scheduled for an upgrade, while Punjab Stadium in Lahore, along with other stadiums in the province, will undergo improvements. Plans also include the construction of commercial shops around the Punjab Stadium and other local stadiums to support revenue generation.
Further expanding sports opportunities, a new tehsil-level sports complex will be built in Dera Ghazi Khan. The move is part of a broader initiative to develop advanced sports infrastructure throughout Punjab, making modern facilities accessible to athletes and enthusiasts.
Secretary Sports Punjab instructed departmental officers to expedite the resolution of No Objection Certificate and other administrative issues to ensure timely implementation of the new projects.
