Punjab University Completes Faculty and Management Training

Punjab University training culminated with NOPF and NOPM; NAHE-backed program urged participants to cascade learning and explore international opportunities.

The University of the Punjab held a joint closing ceremony for the National Outreach Program for Faculty and the National Outreach Program for Management at the Institute of Administrative Sciences, marking the successful conclusion of both initiatives aimed at strengthening campus leadership and professional skills. The Punjab University training brought together faculty and management officers for a program of interactive learning and institutional capacity building.

Dr Noor Amna Malik, Managing Director of the National Academy of Higher Education at the Higher Education Commission Islamabad, attended as chief guest and led an interactive session with participants of the Management Officers Training Program that attendees described as uplifting and engaging. In her address she praised the execution of both programs, commended the Vice Chancellor for his support, and called on participants to act as ambassadors of professional development within their departments. She urged graduates to apply and cascade the learning across the University and announced potential international training opportunities as well as plans for a specialized program for heads of departments.

The Vice Chancellor described the initiatives as a unique opportunity for growth and urged participants to maintain a positive and continuous learning mindset while embodying inclusive values in their professional lives. He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the training coordinator, Dr Sania Malik, who earlier presented an overview of the programs and formally acknowledged a PKR 3.9 million grant from NAHE that enabled their successful implementation.

Dr Amjad Magsi, President of the Academic Staff Association, highlighted the critical role participants will play in driving positive change across the University. Participant representatives emphasized the programs’ impact, with Dr Shareh Qazi describing the faculty training as reflective and enriching and Ms Mehwish Khurshid noting that the management program strengthened officers’ sense of belonging and institutional responsibility.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to attendees. Among those present were Dr Rehan Sheikh Dean FHS, Dr Amjad Magsi President ASA, Dr Aqil Inam Director ORIC, Dr Kashif Rathore Director IAS, Muhammad Muneeb Ur Rehman Assistant Director NAHE and Rai Hassan Rauf Resident Auditor.

The completion of these outreach programs marks another milestone in advancing professional development and leadership excellence at the University of the Punjab, and the Punjab University training is expected to have a lasting impact as participants return to their departments and share newly acquired skills and practices.
