A concluding consultation meeting at the Punjab Women Protection Authority office in Lahore brought together stakeholders to review and finalize the Shelter Home SOPs. The meeting was chaired by DG PWPA Ms. Kalsoom Saqib and included representatives from UNFPA, who worked collaboratively to ensure the SOPs reflect practical measures for supporting vulnerable women across Punjab.
The finalized Shelter Home SOPs aim to create consistent standards for protection, care and rehabilitation, ensuring that women receive timely and dignified services. Emphasis during the consultation was placed on coordination between shelters and relevant support agencies to improve access to care and long term recovery options for survivors.
Officials said the completed SOPs will guide implementation in shelter homes across the province and strengthen the provincewide framework for women protection. The collaboration between PWPA and UNFPA on these Shelter Home SOPs underscores continued commitment to safer, more reliable services for women in Punjab.
