A one-day RAMP Safety Training Seminar was successfully conducted at Skardu International Airport, organized to strengthen awareness and proficiency in safety protocols and emergency procedures among airport personnel. The seminar received valuable support from Ms. Saima Intekhab, Officiating Assistant Manager of the Safety Department for Airfield Survey & Ramp Inspection at Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
The extensive safety training seminar was designed to highlight critical ramp safety procedures and protocols essential for airport operations. Participants received detailed guidance on established protocols to maintain high safety standards and prevent accidents or incidents on airport premises.
An integral part of the training addressed hazard identification and risk assessment. Airport employees were instructed on recognizing potential hazards, evaluating possible risks, and implementing effective mitigation measures to ensure safety compliance in every aspect of runway and aircraft operations.
Further sessions focused specifically on the safe handling of aircraft and various ground support vehicles. Staff were educated on best practices and current standards in the handling, maneuvering, and maintenance of support vehicles and equipment to reduce the probability of incidents, thus protecting human life and valuable assets.
The seminar concluded with comprehensive training in emergency response planning and execution. Attendees practiced the fundamentals of swiftly and effectively responding to emergencies, underscoring the necessity of preparedness and clear communication protocols under challenging circumstances.
