Rawalpindi horticulture ramps up nursery production to supply quality plants, enhance city greenery and ensure self-reliance ahead of winter.

Following directives from the managing director, the horticulture teams in Rawalpindi have intensified nursery operations to cultivate a wide array of plants and flowers daily, aiming to strengthen municipal green cover and local availability.

Rawalpindi horticulture nurseries are producing high-quality seedlings, including shade trees and ornamental varieties, that are being distributed across parks and green belts to improve the city’s visual appeal and environmental health while building self-sufficiency in plant supply.

Ahmad Hassan Ranjha noted that nursery workers continue to tend and propagate plants with skill and dedication, ensuring timely supply for city parks and green belts and aligning planting schedules with the Punjab government’s vision to make Rawalpindi greener.

With the cold season approaching, the agency has also stepped up protective measures for vulnerable plants and flowers, combining propagation, regular care and winter safeguards so the momentum of urban greening can continue uninterrupted.
