Celebrate Rawalpindi's dengue reduction and 15-year polio-free milestone achieved through sustained campaigns, community action and dedicated health teams.

Barrister Danyal Chaudhry led tributes at PC Rawalpindi as the district celebrated a major public health turnaround, marked by a dramatic dengue reduction and a 15-year polio-free record. Authorities reported dengue cases fell from 6,606 in 2024 to 1,586 in 2025, a decline attributed to sustained anti-dengue drives and coordinated health operations across the district.

The success in dengue reduction followed intensive community mobilization, persistent sanitation work to remove mosquito breeding sites, and door-to-door awareness by health teams. Barrister Danyal praised sanitation workers, vaccinators and frontline staff for their round-the-clock efforts and said the administration made public health a clear priority for the people of Rawalpindi.

Alongside the dengue improvement, Rawalpindi marked 15 consecutive years without a polio case, underscoring robust immunization systems and community cooperation. The district also recorded five consecutive campaigns achieving 100 percent LQAS results, setting a national benchmark for vaccination coverage and verification standards.

Officials and community representatives at the Celebration of Success called for building on current momentum, with plans to intensify vector control, sustain high immunization quality, and aim for complete elimination of dengue while preserving the polio-free legacy. Barrister Danyal urged partners to replicate Rawalpindi’s model across other districts so public health gains endure nationwide.
