Rawalpindi Police briefs District Women Protection Officer on reforms and services during 16-day campaign against gender violence. Help available via helpline 15.

District Women Protection Officer Rizwana Bashir attended a training workshop at the Rawalpindi Police Lines Headquarters as part of the 16-day activities against gender-based violence. DSP Admin Shahida Yasmin and other senior officers welcomed the delegation and hosted the session focused on strengthening protection for women.

Rawalpindi Police provided a detailed briefing on its operational working, recent reforms and the feedback system designed to improve service delivery and response times for women in distress. The briefing highlighted coordination mechanisms between the police and women protection authorities to ensure timely assistance.

DSP Admin Shahida Yasmin reiterated that Rawalpindi Police follows a zero tolerance policy toward violence, rape and exploitation of women and urged survivors to seek immediate help. Complaints can be reported through the emergency helpline 15, the Virtual Women Police Station, protection centres and local women contact police stations for rapid response.

Rizwana Bashir praised the efforts of Rawalpindi Police in addressing violence against women and noted that these measures align with the Chief Minister of Punjab’s vision to prioritise the protection of women, children and vulnerable communities. A Rawalpindi Police spokesperson provided the operational details and reaffirmed ongoing commitment to improving services for women.
