**RPO Rawalpindi Holds Open Court to Address Public Grievances Across Five Districts**
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi, Babar Sarfraz Alpa, conducted an open court at the regional office in line with the Punjab Government’s vision and open-door policy. Citizens from all five districts of the Rawalpindi region—Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Murree—participated in the session, presenting a variety of complaints and requests. The initiative aims to ensure prompt justice by utilizing all available resources and promoting transparency and accountability within the police force.
During the open court, residents raised issues pertaining to delayed investigations, false accusations, and missing persons. In one instance, Muhammad Arif of Pir Wadhai reported that an accused person in a fraud case registered at the local police station had not yet been apprehended. RPO Alpa ordered the Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal division to take immediate action and submit a report within the specified timeframe.
Addressing another complaint, Sultan Afser Chishti from Rawalpindi alleged that a false case had been registered against him. The RPO instructed the SP Investigation Attock to conduct a prompt inquiry into the matter. Similarly, Tariq Mehmood from Sohawa Jhelum reported the non-arrest of an accused in a cheque dishonor case, prompting the RPO to direct the District Police Officer (DPO) Jhelum for swift intervention.
Additionally, Muhammad Shafique of Gujar Khan approached the open court to report his missing child. The RPO referred the matter to the Assistant SP Gujar Khan for urgent action. Other miscellaneous complaints were also forwarded to relevant officers with instructions for immediate inquiries and timely reporting.
Speaking on the occasion, RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa reiterated that serving the public remains the primary duty of the police. He emphasized the ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and speedy redressal of grievances at all levels, in line with government directives. The open court, he noted, is an important step towards providing direct access to police leadership, ensuring citizens’ concerns are addressed efficiently and justly.
