A young girl who was reportedly abducted near a Rawalpindi hospital has been recovered safely and handed back to her parents following swift action by the Rawalpindi police. Authorities say the child was found in police protective custody after rapid mobilization of teams ordered by CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani.
On receiving the report, the CPO immediately directed the formation of special search teams and enhanced monitoring across the city. Snap checking was carried out on inner and outer roads while footage from hundreds of CCTV cameras, including Safe City systems, was reviewed to track movements related to the case.
Police sources say effective monitoring and field checking forced the suspect to abandon the child and flee the scene, allowing officers to secure the girl and take her to safety. The Rawalpindi police have assured the public that the suspect will be traced and arrested following ongoing investigative leads.
The reunited parents expressed gratitude to CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani and the teams involved for the prompt response and recovery. The CPO emphasized that children are a collective responsibility and urged parents to keep strict supervision, avoid trusting strangers, and ensure children are not left out of sight.
A Rawalpindi Police spokesperson reiterated that the child remains in protective custody while the investigation continues and called on families to remain vigilant to prevent similar incidents.
