Rawalpindi RDA Meeting Reviews Projects and Public Relief

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) held a meeting to welcome newly appointed officers and review progress on major development projects, with Director General Kinza Murtaza directing tighter enforcement of regulations, faster project delivery and an emphasis on serving the public. Officers were instructed to raise public awareness about building and zoning rules, crack down on illegal construction and housing schemes, and accelerate work on key infrastructure including the Ring Road and Nullah Lai Expressway.

The meeting, chaired by DG Kinza Murtaza in the Authority’s conference room, opened with formal introductions of the newly appointed officers. The DG stressed that all staff must implement government policies faithfully and act with honesty, dedication and sincerity while resolving public grievances. She reminded attendees that RDA officials are public servants who must follow rules and procedures to address citizens’ problems effectively.

Murtaza directed the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) directorate to carry out an awareness campaign on Building and Zoning Regulations and to take uncompromising action against illegal housing schemes, unauthorized constructions and unpermitted commercial uses. She instructed that enforcement be conducted without fear or favor and that protecting the public interest remain the Authority’s top priority.

On development projects, the DG highlighted major initiatives such as the Ring Road Project and the Nullah Lai Expressway, urging that work be expedited. She ordered the Engineering Directorate to accelerate execution where there are no physical impediments and to extend working hours when necessary to reduce disruption and inconvenience for residents.

The meeting was attended by Additional Director General Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Chief Engineer Muhammad Anwar Baran, Chief Planner Muhammad Tahir Meo, and other senior RDA officers, who were tasked with implementing the directives and reporting progress to the DG.
