Rawalpindi school meeting on education and enrollment

Government education officials met with heads of public schools from Rawalpindi and Taxila to review new provincial initiatives, discuss inspection findings, and issue directives on school improvements, enrollment drives, data management, and health measures.

The meeting, held at Government Muslim Higher Secondary School No. 1 Rawalpindi, was chaired by Tariq Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer of the Rawalpindi District Education Authority. School heads from Tehsil Taxila and across Rawalpindi attended to discuss implementation of recent policy measures introduced by the Punjab government for the education sector.

Tariq Mahmood briefed participants on the new initiatives aimed at raising educational standards, improving school facilities, and ensuring full student participation. He shared key findings from a recent School Education Department inspection tour of multiple Rawalpindi schools and directed all heads to promptly remedy identified deficiencies. He also instructed them to conduct self-reviews of field complaints and to take corrective action without delay.

All school leaders were ordered to maintain up-to-date records in the Student Information System and to actively support the ongoing enrollment campaign. Schools were tasked with identifying out-of-school children, compiling their data, and taking immediate steps to enroll them.

The CEO commended the School Education Department’s role in dengue control and urged continued cooperation and maximum effort from schools to help eliminate dengue from the community.

Dr. Syed Usman Hamdani, member of the National Task Force on Mental Health, attended as a special guest and delivered a lecture on mental health and stress management for school leaders, emphasizing strategies to support staff and students.
