RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) organised a solidarity walk on Bank Road to mark Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir and express support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
A large number of Cantonment Board officers, employees and citizens attended the walk. It was led by Additional Executive Officer RCB Zia Hussain and Secretary RCB Imran Habib, along with other officers and staff members.
Participants carried banners and placards inscribed with messages supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. They also raised slogans in favour of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and expressed solidarity with them.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Executive Officer Zia Hussain said the observance of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir was aimed at expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people, supporting their legitimate right to self-determination and raising global awareness about ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the people and institutions of Pakistan stood firmly with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and would continue to extend moral and diplomatic support to their just struggle.
Zia Hussain further stated that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board reaffirmed its support for the Kashmiri people and reiterated its commitment to advocating their right to self-determination.
Later, the Additional Executive Officer and other RCB officers also participated in the central Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir ceremony and solidarity walk held at D-Chowk, Islamabad, to reaffirm Pakistan’s continued solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
