The Royal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) marked World Pharmacists Day by joining a celebration organised by the Professional Pharmacists Group representing Islamabad, AJK & GB. The event brought together pharmacy professionals and civic leaders to recognise the essential role pharmacists play in public health and patient care.
Usman Shaukat, President RCCI, attended as chief guest and paid tribute to pharmacists for their dedication to medicine safety and community wellbeing. His remarks highlighted the importance of collaboration between industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies to support pharmacists across Pakistan.
Joining Mr Shaukat was Dr Obaid Ullah, CEO of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), who shared the platform to honour pharmacists and underscore regulatory efforts that aim to strengthen pharmaceutical services. The presence of DRAP leadership reinforced the shared commitment to improving standards and access to safe medicines.
RCCI Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi and EC member Naureen Ghaffar also graced the occasion, offering words of appreciation for pharmacists working in hospitals, community pharmacies and public health settings. The gathering featured token recognitions and a communal cake to celebrate the contributions of pharmacy professionals on World Pharmacists Day.
The event served as a platform for dialogue between industry representatives and regulators, reflecting a collective effort to support pharmacists in enhancing healthcare delivery across Islamabad, AJK and Gilgit Baltistan. The focus on World Pharmacists Day reaffirmed the vital role pharmacists play in promoting health and patient safety nationwide.
