RDA Cracks Down on Capital Valley Housing Scheme

Rawalpindi (Nadeem Tanoli) In a recent turn of events, the Enforcement Squad of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) carried out a successful operation against an unlawful housing scheme called as Capital Valley.

This housing scheme was situated in mouza Katarian and Thallian, which are both in Rawalpindi. According to a spokesperson for the RDA, the site offices were sealed after receiving instructions to do so from the Director General of the RDA, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, and the premises were entirely vacated.

In addition, the spokesperson disclosed that the RDA’s Enforcement Squad has been aggressively combating illegal housing projects by conducting a variety of legal actions.

RDA Takes Action Against 5 Illegal Housing Schemes

An official notification was delivered to Mr. Sohail Nawaz Cheema, the proprietor of the Capital Valley housing project, in compliance with Section 39, 12 (5) of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Section 38 of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules 2021.

During the operation, the Enforcement Squad of the RDA, together with the aid of security officials, including the Incharge/Assistant Director of Building Control and Superintendent Scheme, carried out the operation to deconstruct the illegal housing scheme.

This was done in order to prevent further violations of the law. It was discovered that the owner of the property was operating the site offices in a manner that was unlawful in accordance with the predetermined guidelines and protocols.

The Director General of the RDA has advised the general public not to invest in any housing plans that are illegal or unlicensed, as was stressed by the spokeswoman for the RDA.

According to the information provided by the spokesperson, the RDA has communicated with Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL), and PTCL in an effort to persuade these companies to refrain from providing services to illegal housing schemes because of the schemes’ lack of approval and illegal status.
