RDA Demolishes Site Offices of Illegal Housing Schemes Including Century Town, Countryside Farms, High Capital City, and Shaheen Gardens

Rawalpindi : The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is undertaking a series of operations against illegal housing schemes in the area. Recently, the Enforcement Squad of the RDA carried out an operation against four illegal housing schemes named Century Town, Country side Farms, High Capital City, and Shaheen Gardens, and demolished site offices, boundary walls, roads, footpaths, guard rooms, and containers, and main gates of these schemes.

RDA Takes Action Against 5 Illegal Housing Schemes

These housing schemes were located in different areas of Rawalpindi, Those four illegal housing schemes namely Century Town situated at mouza Bagga Sheikh, Bagga Miana and Bagga Sangral, Countryside Farms at mouza Ratiya, High Capital City at mouza Losar and Shaheen Gardens at mouza Takhat Pari at Rawat Rawalpindi, and demolished site offices, boundary walls, roads, footpaths, guard rooms and containers and main gates.

Pick and Choose: RDA Criticized for Selective Enforcement Against Housing Scheme Promoters

The RDA has issued notices to the owners of these illegal housing schemes under section 39, 12(5) of PDC Act 1976 and under section 38 of Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules 2021.

The Enforcement Squad of the RDA, including Incharge/Assistant Director Building Control, Deputy Incharge, Superintendent Scheme, and others, conducted the operations against the illegal housing schemes.

The owners of these properties were running illegal housing schemes’ site offices in violation of rules. The DG RDA has advised the general public not to make any investment in any illegal/unauthorized Housing Scheme whose status was declared illegal by RDA. Interested individuals can check the RDA website for the status of any housing scheme. Otherwise, they will be responsible for their losses.

The DG RDA has directed the MP&TE Directorate RDA to take strict actions against illegal/unauthorized housing schemes, their development, construction of booking and site offices, and encroachments without any fear or favor.

The RDA has requested Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL), and PTCL not to extend services to illegal housing schemes as their status is unapproved/illegal.
