DG RDA Kanza Murtaza has directed sustained operations against violations of dengue SOPs across the authority’s jurisdiction, with inspection teams active in Morgah, Kalyal and Wazir Town where dengue hotspots have been identified. The RDA said these measures are part of an intensified effort to curb breeding sites and enforce public safety rules.
During a recent sweep in Morgah an illegal under‑construction building was sealed after teams found it did not meet required approvals. The action was taken under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976, signalling strict enforcement against constructions proceeding without NOCs and proper permissions.
Officials stressed a zero tolerance approach to dengue SOP violations and unauthorised development, saying there will be no compromise on citizen safety. The DG RDA affirmed that ongoing enforcement follows directives from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and is intended to protect public health ahead of the monsoon season.
Property owners, builders and residents have been urged to follow dengue SOPs, secure necessary approvals and remove encroachments promptly. The RDA called on the public to cooperate with removal drives and safety inspections to ensure effective dengue prevention and safer neighbourhoods.
