Officers participating in the Public Sector Management and Governance (PSMG) training course visited the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to gain first-hand understanding of the authority’s operations and ongoing development projects. The visit was organized as part of a government initiative to enhance professional skills and provide practical exposure to the administrative frameworks that underpin urban development in Punjab.

The training course is being conducted by the Punjab Institution of Management and Professional Development (PIMPD). A group of 43 officials from various districts across Punjab, including Assistant Directors, Tehsil Population Welfare Officers, Demographers, Deputy District Account Officers, Assistant District Attorneys, and others, attended the RDA orientation.

During the session, RDA Additional Director General Mansoor Ahmad Khan delivered a detailed presentation on the authority’s organizational structure, key responsibilities, and the major challenges it faces. He provided an overview of the RDA’s history and discussed significant ongoing and upcoming projects, such as the Ring Road Project and the Nullah Lai Project, along with other proposed initiatives aimed at improving urban infrastructure.

Mansoor Ahmad Khan emphasized the importance of such training programs, noting that they equip public officials with practical knowledge and a clear understanding of how development authorities function. This, he said, is essential for fostering effective governance and integrated planning within public sector institutions.

Key RDA officials, including Director Administration and Finance Qazi Sohaib Ahmad and Deputy Director Administration Iftikhar Ali, were present during the briefing. Both the presentations and interactions offered valuable insights to participants, underlining the crucial role of coordinated planning and governance in delivering effective urban development and public services.
