Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar today chaired a briefing with resident ambassadors and representatives of international organizations ahead of the Regional Transport Conference scheduled for 23–24 October 2025 in Islamabad.
The minister underlined the central role of regional connectivity in driving economic growth, enhancing trade and strengthening cultural ties, saying the Regional Transport Conference presents an opportunity to translate shared infrastructure plans into concrete cooperation.
Mr Dar expressed hope for the full participation of neighbouring countries, noting the region holds immense potential to foster cooperation and development through improved transport links and coordinated policy measures tied to the Regional Transport Conference agenda.
The Minister of Communications joined resident ambassadors from regional countries and representatives of international organizations at the briefing, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and concerned departments, to review preparations and expected outcomes.
Government officials said the Islamabad meeting on 23–24 October aims to focus discussions on practical steps to enhance connectivity and trade corridors across the region, reinforcing Pakistan’s role in regional transport cooperation.
