Rehbar Media Block chairman Sheikh Abdul Wahid named as patron with promises of support for members and development of the housing project.

Three years after the housing project near Chakri Interchange was launched with support from Rehbar Welfare, all allotted units for media industry colleagues have been handed over and occupants have taken possession under the Rehbar Media Block initiative.

Key figures who contributed to the project’s progress included former Islamabad Rawalpindi Photo Journalists Association president Suhail Malik, press club official Aamir Rafiq Butt, Agha Mehrooz and Azhar Ali Khan, each of whom played an active role in facilitating allocations and handovers.

At the recent possession event, Mr Malik announced businessman Sheikh Abdul Wahid, an allottee, as chairman and patron in chief of the Rehbar Media Block and expressed confidence that he would work for the welfare and developmental needs of the block’s members.

Alongside Sheikh Abdul Wahid, media representatives including Qaisar Abbasi, Irfan Dogar, Moazzam Shah and Wasim Abbasi were named as active members expected to help advance the block’s objectives. Senior journalists applauded the appointment and conveyed their congratulations.

Pakistan Peoples Party leader Raja Manan also extended congratulations, presented a bouquet and assured full cooperation, saying he would stand with media colleagues whenever needed. Sheikh Abdul Wahid responded by pledging that he and his party will support media members on all relevant forums and work toward their betterment.
