Romania Pakistan Economic Partnership for Growth and Trade

The Embassy of Romania in Pakistan has announced efforts to deepen economic cooperation with Pakistan, building on bilateral trade exceeding $200 million. Romanian officials held talks with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, to discuss expanding commercial exchanges and addressing existing challenges.

Discussions focused on increasing exports in key sectors. Romania aims to boost the export of its machinery, pharmaceuticals, and IT services, while Pakistan is looking to enhance sales of textiles, rice, and surgical instruments. Both sides also acknowledged challenges related to banking transactions and customs procedures, pledging to work together to find effective solutions.

The two countries explored opportunities for joint ventures in areas such as renewable energy, agriculture, and the digital economy. Special emphasis was placed on collaboration within Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs), as well as establishing partnerships in the halal food trade, infrastructure projects, and technology.

Romania reiterated its commitment to fostering a dynamic, future-oriented economic relationship with Pakistan, highlighting the significant potential for mutual growth and prosperity.
