Romania Pakistan trade to deepen as KCCI and Romanian leaders plan a 2026 trade fair, joint ventures and aim to double bilateral trade within three years.

A delegation from the Romanian Embassy met with the leadership of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry to discuss concrete steps to boost trade and investment links between Romania and Pakistan, with a particular focus on Sindh and Karachi as the country’s industrial and financial hub.

Discussions emphasised strengthening Romania Pakistan trade by increasing business-to-business connections, attracting Romanian investment in Pakistan and exploring mechanisms for trade diversification. The two sides identified opportunities for joint ventures and technology transfer that could benefit key local industries.

The meeting highlighted Romania as a reliable gateway to the European Union market, offering access to more than 450 million consumers. Romanian representatives presented the country’s stable investment climate, skilled workforce and strategic location as incentives for Pakistani exporters and investors considering partnerships or a regional base in the EU.

Both parties noted that current bilateral trade, roughly USD 250 million annually, remains below potential and set an ambition to double that figure within the next three years. Plans under discussion include formal partnerships between KCCI and Romanian chambers of commerce and a Romanian Trade & Investment Fair in Karachi scheduled for 2026 to showcase opportunities and facilitate matchmaking.

Sectoral cooperation emerged as a priority, with particular interest in energy, infrastructure, agriculture, information technology, textiles and manufacturing. Romania’s strengths in renewable energy, construction materials, agricultural machinery and engineering were presented as complementary to Pakistan’s capacities in textiles, leather, pharmaceuticals and IT, opening prospects for value-added exports and industrial collaboration.

The Romanian Embassy committed to supporting business connectivity through trade missions, virtual matchmaking and continued dialogue between private sectors. Stakeholders emphasised the need for practical follow-up measures to translate discussions into joint projects and investments that deliver jobs and technology transfer in Karachi and Sindh.

Both sides expressed confidence that closer economic cooperation can build a strategic and mutually beneficial partnership grounded in trust, innovation and sustained commercial engagement, advancing Romania Pakistan trade in the years ahead.
