Regional Police Officer Rawalpindi Babar Sarfraz Alpa visited Saddar Wah and Taxila police stations where he conducted a thorough inspection of station buildings, lockups, front desks, record rooms and other related facilities. The visit was attended by the SDPO Taxila, the concerned SHOs and other police officers who accompanied the RPO during the review.
During his inspection, RPO Rawalpindi offered prayers at the martyr memorial for constable Sajjad Hussain Shah, paying tribute to the fallen officer and praying for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks. The visit underscored the regional leadership’s commitment to honouring those who lost their lives in the line of duty while ensuring operational standards at station level.
RPO Rawalpindi reviewed case records including registered FIRs, ongoing investigations and progress on serious offences. He issued clear directions to ensure immediate arrest of all suspects named in station cases and insisted that investigations be conducted on merit, transparently and strictly on factual grounds. He also ordered that challans be prepared and submitted to the relevant courts within prescribed timeframes to speed up judicial process.
The RPO made it explicit that no citizen will be held in illegal custody and that such practices will not be tolerated. He stressed that police stations are service centres for the public and instructed officers to treat visitors with courtesy, respect and professionalism while delivering prompt and fair service. Officers and staff were reminded to restore public confidence through improved conduct, performance and professional competence.
Emphasising sustained action against criminal elements, RPO Rawalpindi called for continuous and effective operations to maintain law and order. He urged station commanders to play an active role in preserving public safety while prioritising the rule of law, citizens’ rights and timely delivery of justice.
