Students at the Russian Embassy school in Islamabad staged a charming New Year fairy tale that captured the holiday spirit and showcased young performers. The production placed the focus on traditional seasonal characters and imaginative storytelling as children took on leading roles alongside famed figures from Slavic folklore.
The narrative followed Ded Moroz and the Snow Maiden as they joined pupils to confront a mischievous forest genie named Lisha, the cunning witch Baba Yaga and a stern Ice Queen. Together the children and the seasonal heroes worked to defeat these antagonists after they abducted a horse that symbolized the coming year, ensuring the New Year fairy tale ended with the restoration of joy and hope.
As a gesture of thanks for protecting the holiday spirit, Ded Moroz presented gifts to the children and offered warm wishes for 2026, expressing hopes for happiness, health and success for everyone. The performance highlighted cultural celebration at the embassy school and left students and attendees with memorable festive moments tied to the New Year fairy tale.
