From October 24 to 26 a Russian delegation delivered lectures at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology and the Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development. The team included Ruslan Prokhorov, head of the Rcsc PK Russian Center of Science and Culture in Karachi; Roman Porozov, an associate professor from the Ural State Pedagogical University; and Gleb Shubin, Cultural and Education Attaché at the Embassy of Russia in Pakistan.
The speakers informed Pakistani students about educational opportunities in the Russian Federation and provided a detailed presentation on the application process and requirements for the Russian government scholarship for the 2026/27 academic year. The delegation emphasised that applications for Russian scholarships are accepted only through the official portal and that the deadline is January 15, 2026. Mr Prokhorov outlined recent advances in domestic artificial intelligence technology and described how Russian IT corporations are leveraging AI to support education. Students were also introduced to the cultural, ethnic, religious and geographical diversity of Russia and its role as a leading scientific and technological power, information that can guide Pakistani candidates in selecting programmes and institutions.
The sessions at FUUAST and PITAD offered attendees the chance to ask specific questions about eligibility, documentation and scholarship procedures, making Russian scholarships a concrete option for Pakistani students seeking study abroad.
