Ambassador Harerimana met Pakistan's Maritime Minister to advance maritime cooperation and direct shipping links, boosting trade for landlocked Rwanda.

In Islamabad, High Commissioner Fatou Harerimana of Rwanda paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs of Pakistan, to discuss ways to deepen maritime cooperation between the two countries.

The discussions centred on establishing direct shipping line connectivity to facilitate trade, reduce logistics costs and shorten transit time, measures that would be particularly beneficial to Rwanda as a landlocked nation. Both sides explored how stronger links between Pakistan’s maritime sector and East African trade routes could open new opportunities for exporters and shippers on both ends.

Officials agreed to continue dialogue to convert these proposals into practical steps, underscoring how enhanced maritime cooperation can strengthen commercial ties and bolster relations between Pakistan and African partners.
