Rwanda Pakistan education cooperation advances as Rwandas High Commissioner meets Pakistan minister to expand scholarships, TVET and AI partnerships.

In Islamabad, Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ms. Fatou Harerimana, met Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Ms. Wajiha Qamar to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in higher education through the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The meeting focused on practical pathways to deepen Rwanda Pakistan education links and improve institutional collaboration.

Both leaders discussed development of the technical and vocational education and training sector and the exchange of best practices in teachers’ training to raise standards and responsiveness to labour market needs. They also explored partnership opportunities in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology, aiming to equip students with future-ready skills.

Opportunities for student scholarships and academic exchanges were reviewed as mechanisms to enhance people-to-people ties and build human capital between Rwanda and Pakistan. Officials highlighted that coordinated efforts through HEC and related institutions could help translate these discussions into programmes that benefit students, educators and the wider workforce.
