SAARC Programming Committee meets in Kathmandu Feb 11-12 2026; Pakistan delegation joins to coordinate regional programmes with the SAARC Secretariat.

The 62nd session of the SAARC Programming Committee commenced on 11 February 2026 at the SAARC Secretariat in Kathmandu, Nepal. Chaired by Nepal, the meeting runs from 11 to 12 February and gathers National Focal Points and senior delegates from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, alongside senior officials of the SAARC Secretariat.

The SAARC Programming Committee brings together national contacts and technical delegates to discuss coordination of regional programmes and schedules for the coming year. Pakistan’s national focal point and delegation are participating to ensure Islamabad’s priorities are reflected in collaborative initiatives and to strengthen engagement with neighbouring member states.

Delegates will focus on practical coordination and calendar harmonization under Nepal’s chairmanship, with the Secretariat supporting follow up and implementation steps. Active involvement in the SAARC Programming Committee offers Pakistan an opportunity to advance cooperative projects and reinforce regional ties across South Asia.
