Chairman CDA Reviews Development and Beautification Work at Saidpur Model Village, Reclaims Illegal Land at Margalla Hills

Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa visited Saidpur Model Village along with senior officials, reviewing ongoing uplifting and beautification projects. During his inspection, Mr. Randhawa expressed confidence that Saidpur Model Village will soon turn into an internationally recognized, state-of-the-art tourist attraction, enhancing the capital’s appeal and providing recreational amenities to citizens.

The CDA Chairman was accompanied on his tour by Member Environment Asfandyar Baloch, Director General Environment, Deputy Director General Enforcement, Director Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA), and other relevant officials. During the visit, the Chairman received a detailed briefing about the current status and progress of the uplifting and beautification activities underway at Saidpur Model Village. He was informed that the project is progressing rapidly, with special technical assistance provided by architects and horticulture experts from Baku, Azerbaijan.

Chairman Randhawa appreciated the contributions and expertise of the Baku-based team of architects and horticulture specialists, expressing optimism that these collaborations will transform Islamabad into one of the world’s most beautiful and modern capitals, significantly boosting tourism and recreational amenities. He instructed the officials to fully utilize all available resources to develop Saidpur Model Village into an exemplary tourist destination conforming to international standards.

Highlighting the strategic importance of the project, Chairman Randhawa emphasized that the completion of the beautification work at Saidpur Village would significantly boost the city’s aesthetic appeal, creating an inviting, attractive space for residents and visitors alike. He instructed the authorities to expedite completion and ensure that comprehensive recreational facilities and tourist-friendly arrangements are established to enhance the visitors’ experience.

Separately, the Chairman CDA was briefed about the recent anti-encroachment operation conducted within Margalla Hills National Park. The successful operation resulted in the recovery of approximately 23 Kanals of government land within the national park vicinity. During this enforcement action, authorities demolished 13 illegally constructed houses, reclaiming valuable state-owned property from illegal occupants. This reclaimed land has now been handed over to the CDA’s Environment Wing to restore the natural beauty and ecological balance of Margalla Hills National Park.

Residents of the legally established community in Saidpur Village commended the authority’s prompt actions in reclaiming the illegally occupied land. Chairman Randhawa reiterated his firm commitment to preserving the natural beauty and environment of Islamabad. He made clear that the CDA will undertake all necessary measures to protect and enhance the capital’s natural beauty, stating explicitly that no compromise would be tolerated regarding encroachments or illegal constructions, particularly in sensitive areas like the Margalla Hills National Park.
