A delegation from the Green Crescent Trust and the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) met with the Secretary of the School Education & Literacy Department (SE&LD), alongside the Special Consultant of SE&LD, to discuss potential collaboration aimed at improving educational outcomes and fostering economic development. The discussion focused on upgrading schools, expanding mid-level technology initiatives, and launching adult literacy and skills programs to bridge the gap between education and economic growth.

During the meeting, both organizations explored ways to work together in enhancing the quality of education and equipping individuals with relevant skills to meet the demands of the evolving job market. The proposed partnership seeks to modernize local schools through infrastructure and curriculum upgrades and to introduce technology-focused programs that better prepare students for future careers.

In addition to supporting youth education, the collaboration will emphasize adult literacy and vocational training. These initiatives aim to empower adults with essential reading, writing, and technical skills, enabling them to contribute more effectively to local industries and the broader economy.

As part of this initiative, the School Education & Literacy Department is set to sign a Letter of Understanding (LoU) with the Green Crescent Trust, formally launching the partnership and outlining steps for implementing the agreed-upon programs. This agreement marks a significant step towards aligning education strategies with economic objectives, benefiting both individuals and the wider community.
