SCO Strengthens Literature Cooperation in Beijing Meeting

The Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Nurlan Ermekbayev, met with a delegation from the Office of the PRC for Publishing and Distribution of Literature in Foreign Languages at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two organizations, discussing upcoming SCO events, and promoting literature exchange between member states.

During the meeting, Jiang Yongan, Head of the Center for Broadcasting for Europe and Asia, highlighted the strong working relationship between his office and the SCO Secretariat. He expressed his commitment to further enhancing collaboration and supporting the organization’s initiatives.

Secretary-General Ermekbayev briefed the delegation on important upcoming SCO activities, including a high-profile meeting of the Council of Heads of State in Tianjing. He also outlined preparations for the organization’s 25th anniversary celebrations planned for 2026, emphasizing the importance of these events in fostering unity and cooperation among SCO member states.

As a symbolic gesture of cultural exchange, the delegation presented a series of books about China, published in the languages of SCO member countries, to the Secretariat’s library. Among the gifts was the latest volume of the monograph “Xi Jinping on Public Governance,” recognized as a valuable contribution to the library’s collection.
