Senior officials and representatives from multiple countries and international organizations gathered in Awaza, Turkmenistan, to discuss the future of transport and interconnectivity across the region. The event was chaired by the President of Armenia, Vaagn Khachaturian, and attracted prominent attendees, including the Prime Minister of Nepal, the Minister of Transport of Tajikistan, as well as high-level representatives from Austria, Ethiopia, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, and the UN European Economic Commission.
Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Ahmad Saidmurodzoda, addressed the gathering, focusing on the progress made in strengthening cooperation among SCO member states in the transport sector. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to create more efficient and favorable conditions for international motor transport among the organization’s members.
During the meeting, participants reviewed key agreements, including an arrangement between member governments aimed at improving cross-border transport measures. The event provided an opportunity for representatives to share updates and discuss strategies for further enhancing regional connectivity, with the aim of boosting economic growth and fostering international collaboration in the transport industry.
