**Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi Opens ‘Seeing, (Seen)’ Art Exhibition at PNCA**
Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, officially inaugurated the ‘Seeing, (Seen)’ art exhibition at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), highlighting a new wave of contemporary artistic expression and cross-cultural collaboration. The exhibition aims to provide visitors with a fresh perspective on visual art through the innovative use of moving images, featuring works from both Pakistani and UK artists.
Curated by Sarah Rajper as part of the Art Exchange: Moving Image Curatorial Fellowship, the exhibition challenges traditional visual narratives. Centering on themes such as fragmentation, resistance, and nonlinearity, the display encourages audiences to rethink how stories can be told through visual media, offering novel methods of perception and understanding.
During the inauguration, Minister Khichi emphasized the importance of engaging youth in the arts and praised the PNCA for organizing such dynamic programs. “It is an opportunity to engage youth in the arts. PNCA is organizing such kinds of events, and we are proud of our young curators and artists,” he remarked. He also expressed gratitude to the British Council for its continued support, highlighting the fruitful partnership between Pakistani and UK-based artists.
The exhibition includes an array of works from distinguished artists from both countries, with several pieces on loan from the British Council Art Collection. In addition to the launch, a special panel discussion featuring participating artists provided attendees with deeper insights into their creative processes and thematic explorations.
Open to the public free of charge, the event attracted significant interest from art lovers, students, and cultural enthusiasts, reflecting the growing appetite for innovative visual storytelling in Pakistan. Visitors can continue to experience the exhibition at PNCA over the coming days, as it celebrates contemporary art and nurtures ongoing cultural dialogue between Pakistan and the UK.
